Unholy Mastery Fix idea

[:1]For ever spec that relies heavy on pet damage, their mastery is "increase pet damage by xxx" while Unholy's mastery is "increase shadow damage by xxx". For a spec in which our pet is going to be doing 22-25% of our total damage, this is not a suiting Mastery bonus. The consequences of this type of change would probably require reworking in our tree to enhance our AOE capabilities, but as it stands now Unholy is stuck in a weird position because:

1)Pets (ghoul, army, and Gargoyle) don't benefit from Mastery
2)Over 55% of our damage sources don't have a use for Expertise. If our mastery were Pet Bonus damage and the pet inherited our Expertise, it would solve quite a few problems.

I know many developers are busy with new topics from the new expansion and are excited about dealing with the balance changes, but I'm wishing for swifter changes that affect us now or in the next patch, not 6 months from now for the expansion. This happened for warrior Rage inflation where even though the design and development team knew warrior Rage was causing an inflation of damage since the start of ICC, blue posts responded with something similar to "we're on the last tier dungeon, so the warrior changes will just come next expansion as its not worth the time to change it now".

I'm not saying Unholy is broken and I certainly hope I don't send the impression that Unholy DKs like myself are whiners, but due to how our Mastery increases Shadow damage (yet our pet does over a forth of our total damage) its really making it terribly difficult to find the true secrets to maximizing our dps potential. I've always been one to challenge the status quo if I have a gut feeling about something simcraft or the professional theorycraft websites may have been wrong for weeks about. Its just our spec isn't benefitting fully from any secondary stat right now, except Haste to an extent. But our tree is based on D&D and shadow damage, yet our pets do as much as Beast Mastery Hunter's pets. So I'm confused as to the direction you're wanting Unholy to steer towards. Do you want us to be a DoT class, a shadow damage master, a pet class, and aoe cannonball, and single-target boss glass cannon, a tank for ranged magic spells? It seems you want us to do it all, but pay the price by not benefitting from anything in particular.

Or we could not...
